Activities in Costa Rica
Costa Rica offers many diverse activities. For those who enjoy the outdoors, take advantage of Costa Ricafs beautiful scenery by taking guided tours through Costa Ricafs lush jungles. And for those who enjoy History, Costa Rica has several museums where you can learn about the Costa Rican culture and history. Museums
Costa Ricafs Gold Museum, or Museo Oro Precolombino, contains collections of 1600 pieces of Pre-Columbian gold work from 500 AD through 1500 AD. Visitors learn about the processing and making of the pieces and what their social, cultural and religious meanings are. Also located in Costa Ricafs Gold Museum are the Numismatic Museum and the Temporary Exhibition Galleries.
Costa Ricafs Jade Museum, or Museo del Jade, displays Indian Jewelry, and features the largest American Jade collection in the world. The Jade Museum is located in the National Insurance building.
The Museo de Costarricense is in Costa Ricafs old International Airport in the Sabana Urban Park. The museum has Costa Rican fine paintings and sculpture on exhibit. And, the Museo de Arte Contemporeneo is located in Costa Ricafs old National Liquor Factory and features Contemporary Artists.
Costa Ricafs Museo Nacional, or the National Museum, offers Indian artifacts and displays facts about the conquest of the Spaniards in Costa Rica. This Costa Rican Museum is located in an old fort and is marked by bullet holes from the 1948 Civil War.
Costa Ricafs Insect Museum at the Universidad de Costa Rica holds an extravagant collection of exotic bugs.

Butterfly Farm
